Robert “Bob” Radzienda passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 9 pm in the embrace of his family after his battle with lung disease.

Loving husband to Donna M. (nee DeVitto) for 49 years. Devoted father to Michael Radzienda, MD, SFHM and wife Elaine (nee Wasikowski), Marybeth Dietz, AIA and husband Joe. Blessed with grandsons Jacob Edward, Mitchell Robert, and Michael Joe Radzienda. Brother to the late Mary Lou. Brother-in-law to Diane (nee DeVitto) and Stan Brown. Uncle to Karen (nee Brown) and Brian Kissel, Kimberly Brown, and Matthew Kissel.

Bobby was born in Chicago, September 12, 1944 to the late Helen (nee Powalski) and Louis R. Radzienda, past National Boxing Association President and Illinois Boxing Commissioner. After attending St. Gall Grammar School, Bob graduated from De La Salle HS in 1962. Bob earned an Associate’s Degree from Lewis University. He worked for the Boiler Makers upon completing his studies. Bob married Donna DeVitto on April 22, 1967 at St. Basil Church. He served active duty in Vietnam (1967-1968) and was honorably discharged from the US Army, First Infantry (Swamp Rats). In recognition of his bravery and service during combat, Robert Radzienda, SP4 was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Valorous Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm Device, and Civil Actions Honor Medal. He was an active member of the VFW Post 2791, Tinley Park, IL.  Bob was a member of the International Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 17 for 49 years. He and Donna had their son Michael Louis in 1969 and had their daughter, Marybeth Nicole in 1981. Bob was also the owner and proprietor of "Cable Video," the local video rental shop. As a hands-on Papa, he enjoyed visiting and playing with his 3 loving grandsons. Bob was a dear life-long friend to many. Everyone loved Bob. Visitation Sunday 3:00 - 9:00 P.M.  Funeral Monday 8:30 AM from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 West 127th Street, Crestwood, to Saint Denis Catholic Church, 8301 S. St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
