In loving memory of Stanley John Ostrokol who passed away peacefully in his home of more than 40 years on November 15, 2017. Stanley was born in Chicago on January 27, 1930. Stanley married Lucille Gnatt on June 30, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church while employed at R.R. Donnelly as a sorter. On August 23, 1951, Stanley was inducted into the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3-Bronze Service Stars and a United Nations Service Medal. After eight years of service, he was released as a Corporal. Stanley completed coursework as an electrical technician and returned to work at R.R. Donnelly. Stanley and Lucille purchased their first home in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood. In 1974, they purchased a home in what was a new subdivision of Crestwood where he lived the rest of his life with his wife. Stanley leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Lucille. His daughter Kathleen Plyman preceded him in death. His son Steven William Ostrokol (Amber Egan) and his grandsons, Eric Plyman and Matthew Egan-Ostrokol, survive him. Dear brother of Joseph (Helen) and the late Bernice Oseguera.
Visitation will be Monday, November 20th from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Funeral Service Tuesday, 10 A.M. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood. Interment Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street, Alsip. The location of the luncheon will be announced.
