Having lost my own dad when I was age 7, I can tell you all that growing up without his presence left a very lonely scar within me that has never healed. So to all of you----some of who might recall me from the Facebook site----I offer this in memory of your LOUIS SCHMUDE and my own dad who was THEODORE ERNST LOUIS SCHMUDE. In fact, there have many LOUIS' in the SCHMUDE FAMILY.....The name was originally LUDWIG in long ago Prussian text.

I have no doubt that all of these LOUIS' are comparing notes up in Heaven. May all of you have peace and comfort knowing that such a loss is only temporary. May "we" all be together one day at the family circle in the sky.

In just 30 days, I'll travel by AMTRAK train from SW Pennsylvania via Chicago's Union Station enroute to the 2nd SCHMUDE MEET-n-GREET which will be held at Bay Beach Amusement Park's SHELTER 4 w/many cousins from near and far joining for an old fashioned family cookout. In the name of family love, I respectfully invite all of you cousins to come join us-------the SCHMUDE MEET-n-GREET is Sunday, May 21st, 2017 about noon until whenever----

I'm sure that your LOUIS would be smiling from Heaven if any of you came out and joined other cousins------YOU ARE ALL MOST WELCOMED

How does one express the AMAZING essence and SPIRIT of Louis Schmude - His Selfless Generosity, Uncompromising Belief in all that is Good and his unwavering commitment to Family and Friends?

WORDS, even the best WORDS, cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that so many are feeling today.

The loss is there, tangible and real with everyone....but Louis Schmude exemplified LIFE, LOVE, LAUGHTER and an irrepressible belief and faith in seeing the BEST of everything....even loss.

And so today we HONOR Louis Schmude, by profoundly feeling and expressing our loss, but also by remembering Louis Schmude - an AMAZING person who has played a UNIQUE and SPECIAL ROLE in all our lives.

In all of our tomorrows we'll feel you - Gone in some ways, but your presence ever near. Go well.....Stay well.....Always

Rest In Peace my precious old friend. Thank you for all of the love and friendship you and Ruth extended over the past 60 + years. You were the best of husbands, fathers, and friends any of us could ever ask for. God willing, you are embracing your namesake at this very minute. Love you - - - missed you.
