James George Famera passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 70. Beloved son of the late Mary, nee Klacka, and Jerry Famera. Loving brother of Jerry (the late Joyce), Diane (the late Ed) Higgins, Jack (Mary), Lill (Bill) Stark, Dan (Linda) and the late Julie (Joe McGrath). Fond Uncle Jimmy to many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a talented high school and semi-pro football player. Throughout his life he was a loyal Bears and Cubs fan. He was a practicing Catholic and had a very strong belief in his faith. He loved to eat, especially steak and eggs, coffee, donuts, and all things chocolate. Former member of the Chicago Sheet Metal Union. Jimmy lived at and was wonderfully cared for by the staff at Warren Bar Orland Park Long Term Care Facility. His smile, witty sense of humor, love of faith and family, determination to make the best of the many hardships he lived with and true gratitude for people in his life are a legacy to be admired, imitated, and remembered. God bless you Jimmy, we will always miss, love, and remember you.
