Shields Sr., 77 years.  U.S. Army Veteran.  Retired Deputy Chief of Country Club Hills Fire Department.  Beloved husband of Susan, nee Chess.  Devoted father of Tracie (Dennis) Fitzpatrick, James E. Jr. (Kristine) Shields, Tammy (John) Troiani, and Jodi (Chris) Fadool.  Cherished grandfather of Aidan and Meaghan Fitzpatrick, Shamus and Shawn Shields, Samantha Verta and Alex Ooms, SarahAnne and Elaina Troiani,  and Joseph and Jane Fadool.  Loving great-grandfather of Anthony and Olivia Verta, and Alex Jr. Ooms.  Dear brother of Harold Shields.  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday, July 7th from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.  Funeral Wednesday, July 8th, prayers beginning at 9:00 A.M. from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to St. George Catholic Church, 6707 W. 175th Street, Tinley Park, for a 10:00 A.M.
