Jean Freeman, 81, of Bella Vista, AR, passed away on Jan 12, 2022, with her family by her side.

Jean was born on Feb 13, 1940, to parents Arthur and Emma (nee Schander) Schmidt in Harvey, North Dakota. She enlisted in the Army at age 19 and was honorably discharged in 1962, after which she served as a Staff Sargent in the Army Reserves until 1965.

Jean was predeceased by her husband William Freeman and her sister Corrine Saviano. She is survived by her twin sister Janice Sellers and younger sister Gail (Ted) Perkins, her daughter Kathleen (Philip) Hajduk, and her grandchildren Jason Christopher and Allison Faith. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Jean was an avid gardener and craftsperson, and was an active member of St John's Orthodox Church in Rogers, AR.  She will be remembered for her feisty personality and a love for animals.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. followed by a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Chicago, IL.

In lieu of flowers, her family welcomes a charitable donation to Paws of Honor (link to pawsofhonor.org ), which provides veterinary care and products at no cost to retired military and law enforcement canines.
