John A. Ankrom Jr.

John A. Ankrom, Jr, 88, of Crestwood, Illinois, passed away September 7, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and the love of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his Beloved wife Catherine, his daughters, Sheryl Ankrom and Darcy Ankrom, his stepson, Chuck Victor, his grandson, Brandon, and his sister Patricia (Terry) Falk. John is preceded in death by his mother Doris Patrin, stepfather Leonard Patrin, father John Ankrom, Sr.. daughter Laurel Ankrom-Marrs, brother James (Donna) Ankrom, and sister Diane Patrin.

For 30 years, John was a member of the Chicago Teamsters and worked in the trucking industry as a steel hauler for Fairfield Motor Transportation and Admiral Steel. He was a United States Army veteran and was an avid reader and lifelong learner, with a particular passion for history and a genuine curiosity about the people, places, and events that shaped the world. John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. May he rest peacefully, with gratitude for a life well lived and a legacy that will not be forgotten.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. (Prayer service scheduled for 12:30 P.M.) at the Becvar & Son  Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, IL 60418. Interment is private.
