Mary (Kelleher) Mitchell

Mary Mitchell, nee Kelleher, passed away surrounded by family, on Friday, December 19,2025, at her residence at Rosary Hill Home at the age of 93. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Mitchell, her parents Con and Margaret Kelleher, and her loving brother John.

Mary was a 1950 graduate of Visitation High School.  A long-time employee of District National Bank in Bridgeport, where her customers and colleagues enjoyed her gregarious nature.  A parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord, for many years.

Mary and Jim were married in 1952 and were completely devoted to family.  Mary's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed everyday by her children, Ellen (Joe) Moran, Jim Mitchell and Jenny (Terry) Flaherty and her nine loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, on December 26,2025, at St. Gianna Parish, 10233 S. Central Park Ave., Evergreen Park, IL. Visitation one hour before. Interment St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park,  IL.

Special thanks to the Dominican Sisters and staff at Rosary Hill Home in Justice, IL, who provided extraordinary care to Mary for the last two years of her life.
