Matthew J. O'Brien, U.S. Navy Veteran, of Oak Lawn, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of Virginia, nee Gleason.  Loving father of James (Julia) O'Brien, Patricia (the late Joseph T.) Vazquez, and Mary Kay (Brian) Hastings. Cherished grandpa of Margaret (Michael), Katherine (Jordan), Matthew (Lori), Michael, Nicole (Aaron), Joseph, Sean, Ryan (Madison), Erin, and Tara.  Special great-grandpa of 11.  Fond brother of Nancy (the late Byron), Daniel (the late Linda), and the late Kathleen.  Dear brother in law of Nancy.  Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
