Obituary

Pedro Diaz Tena, 75 of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020. He was born on April 17, 1945, in Tupataro, Michoacán to the late Trinidad and Florentina (Tena) Diaz. He devoted his life to being a hardworking employee of the Tootsie Roll Factory, where he was proudly committed to serving for 35 years.  In his free time, Pedro enjoyed gardening his yard to perfection, cooking and sharing his delicious platters, and spending his time outdoors. He was a devoted brother to his brother and sister, a great, loving father to his six children, and a kindhearted grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pedro is preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Diaz, and his mother, Florentina Tena.

He is survived by his brother, Francisco Diaz, and his sister, Natividad Diaz.

Pedro is also survived by his daughters; Sara (Luis) Lopez; María Elena (José Manuel) Casas; Sandra (Daniel) Zavala; Dalhia (Ernesto) De La Torre and Norma Diaz.

His grandchildren; Viridiana Sarahi Lopez, Lizzett M. (Mario G.) Cahue, José Manuel Casas Jr., Tatiana Casas, Amber Casas, Daniel Zavala, Jennifer Zavala, Ernesto De La Torre Jr., Marissa De La Torre, Mariana Sophia De La Torre, Jaime Loera Jr. and Jennifer Loera.

His great-grandchildren; Giselle M. Ruiz, Avery A. Cahue, and Benjamin De La Torre.
