Philip J. Scroppo, 86 years old, of Crestwood, IL, was called home Saturday February 13, 2021. Loving husband of the late Emilie nee (Stashak). Dear brother of the late Joseph (Gail) Scroppo, late Raymond (Theresa) Scroppo. Devoted father to Thomas Scroppo, Renee Fleming (Dennis), Lisa Scroppo, Suzan Stanhibel (Dennis), and Philip I Scroppo (Susan). Cherished grandfather of Thomas Scroppo, Carmella Stanhibel, Jessica Scroppo, and Nicholas Scroppo. Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Philip was born to his parents Anthony and Rose (nee Caruso) Scroppo on June 9th 1934, raised in southside Chicago and graduated from St. Rita Catholic School. He was a MP in the U.S. Army. Philip worked installing terrazzo and later was co-founder of Hy-Power Electric Co. Phil loved to spend time with his family, loved to cook, being outdoors, and having a good laugh with friends and family. He was a great friend to many people.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, 10:00 A.M. at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Crestwood. Entombment of ashes and Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, June 9th at 11:00 A.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
