Sylvia Marie Kabat, 92 of Carmel, Indiana, was born into eternal life, January 11, 2025. Sylvia is survived by her children, Bruce Kabat and Joyce (Terry) Crowder; her grandchildren, Jenna (T.J.) O'Neil, Brad Scriff, Tim Griffin, and Adam (Rachel) Crowder; her great-grandchildren, Tommy O'Neil and Jimmy O'Neil; her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gorski and Marge Lewandowski; her brother-in-law, Robert Kabat; her cousins, Ken (Karen) Wzorek and Mary Ann Clairmont; and several nieces and nephews. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kabat, her daughter, Sharon Griffin; and her daughter-in-law, Roseanne Kabat.

A faithful Catholic and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sylvia worked to provide a loving and comfortable home for her family. She also made others feel special with her talents as a self-employed beautician.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, Illinois.  Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, January 21st, beginning with Chapel Prayers at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home, proceeding to Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, for a 9:30 A.M. Mass of the Christian Burial. Sylvia will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Frank in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois, following the Mass.
