IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sylvia A.
(Ogden) Efimov
June 19, 1935 – June 30, 2025
The Visitation will be streamed live on August 3, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. by cllcking on the following link: BECVARFUNERALHOMESTREAMING:SylivaEfimov8/3/2025
Sylvia Annette Efimov was born June 19th, 1935, in Chicago to Richard J. Tresidder and Florence Dunckley Tresidder. Sylvia had 4 siblings [Alice, Florence, Richard and Benjamin] all of whom are deceased. When Sylvia was very young her parents became unwell so she was adopted by Edgar & Mary Louise Ogden close family friends. She grew up and attended schools in Chicago and graduated from Lindbloom High School, in 1953.
Sylvia met Ted Efimov in 1951 on a windswept lake when they were both out with friends. They dated for 4 years and then they married on Nov 5, 1955. While Ted was deployed to Verona Italy in 1956 Sylvia lived with his parents and worked as the secretary to the Colonel of the 5th Infantry in Chicago.
In 1958 when Ted was honorably discharged, he started his State Farm Agency. Sylvia worked by his side as his partner and fulltime administrative assistant for 60 years.
In the mean-time Ted & Sylvia were ordained deacon & deaconess in Worldwide Church of God. Sylvia was a servant of God for over 52 years in the role. She loved serving in every way. They opened their home to many like a revolving door to families. Many singles that stayed were embraced by she and Ted.
Her consistent unwavering example was taught to her 4 children Deborah (Debbie) Louise Willard, James Drew, Bryan Jon, & Brett Arthur Efimov. Her children saw how she cared for those in need even in the ending years when one of Ted's Certified Nursing Assistant's (CNA) needed a place to stay, she opened up her home to provide respite.
Sylvia & Ted provided their children with a strong work ethic, serving & giving to others. She is survived by her 4 children, 9 grandchildren & 10 great grand-children. She leaves a heritage of devotion & steadfast love. Sylvia is true example of a Proverbs 31 women. She was a deaconess, wife, mother, 'adoptive' mother and friend for the many who knew her.
Her ever-living unwritten rule of "See a Need, Fill a Need" and "Service Above Self" has been indelibly written down as a legacy of her own life.
Sylvia died on June 30 th 2025 while under the fulltime hospice care provided by Community Hospice and multiple CNA's provided by Hughes Home Care.
