Theresa (Griffin) Zmudka

Mary "Theresa" Zmudka, nee Griffin.  Beloved wife of the late Adam J.  Devoted mother of Ellen Batka, Nancy (Steven) Concialdi, Debra Zmudka, and Steven (Debora) Zmudka.  Loving grandmother of Bradley, Jessica, Sarah, Anthony, Barry, Zachary, and April.  Cherished great-grandmother of Michael, Jacob, and Aubrey.

Theresa was the youngest child of Ellie and John Griffin.  Her 2 older brothers Mike and Jim were born in Ireland. They all grew up in the Canaryville neighborhood of Chicago.

She met a polish guy named "Bunny" (our Dad Adam), fell in love and was married in 1952. The mother of four children, Ellen, Nancy, Debra and Steven. Grandmother of seven and Great Grandmother of three.

She worked for a time at University of Illinois-Circle Campus book store, as well as Talman Bank on the switchboard.

As a Girl Scout leader and March of Dimes volunteer, she taught the family to help others and be generous with your time.  Friends were always welcome and encouraged to visit the family home.

Bunco club, bingo, bowling and playing cards were some of her favorite pass times through the years, as well as pencil cartoon drawings. Most recently she enjoyed painting with friends in her community room.

She is remembered most for her out look on life and her very special sense of humor.

Visitation Monday, August 6th from 3-9 P.M.  Funeral Tuesday 10:30 A.M. from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to St. George Church, Tinley Park, for an 11:30 A.M.
