IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William C.
Kamholz
July 13, 1934 – November 3, 2025
William (Bill) Kamholz passed away on November 3 rd at his residence in the Discovery Commons Senior Living facility at the age of 91. Preceded in death by his Beloved wife of over 61 years Pauline (nee Boers). Adored Father of Derek (Sharon), Jeffrey (Barbra), and Michael. Best "Papa" to 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Loving son of the late William and Margaret Kamholz (nee Rieckmann) and preceded in death by siblings June (Erotas) and John (Jack). Cherished Uncle and Great Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Trusted friend to many, many more. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Lindbloom High School, serving in the US Army for 4 years following graduation. Upon returning from service, Bill had a lengthy career as a salesman in the moving and storage industry, while distinguishing himself by his service to mankind. An avid sports fan, Bill was an active coach and trustee for Palos Youth Baseball (now PBO) for many years. For over 50 years, Bill diligently served others through his involvement as an early founder of the Alsip Sertoma Club where he later held many officer positions, receiving the Sertoman of the Year award in 1988. He was integral in founding the Sertoma Speech and Hearing Center in 1978 for which he was a long-time board member and officer. In recognition of Bill's devotion to Sertoma he received the Sertoma Presidential Lifetime Service Award in 2019. More important than his career and service work, Bill was a committed husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, attending every game, event, or special occasion. His love for his grandchildren brought him joy and purpose later in life as a scorekeeper and at times armchair coach. Special thanks to the staff at Discovery Commons Senior Living facility in Orland Park who cared for Bill over the past 12 months as well as Suncrest Hospice who provided support over the past 9 months. Visitation will be held on Saturday November 8th from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:30 a.m. (followed by Military Honors) from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home at 5539 West 127th Street, Crestwood, Illinois 60418. The Right of Christian Burial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Incarnation St. Terrence Catholic Church, 5757 West 127th Street, Crestwood, IL 60418.
