Geraldine G. (Goldinak) Czaplicki

Geraldine "Gerry" Czaplicki, 81, of Tinley Park, passed away on February 2nd.  She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time she passed. Gerry was born on May 11th to John and Genevieve Goldinak in Chicago, IL. While attending Lourdes High School, she loved playing softball and playing the accordion. This was also where she met the love of her life, John Czaplicki, at the age of 16. They were married just four years later for almost 51 years until John passed in 2012. Before having children, she worked at Spiegels in Chicago. And she was proud to share that she worked 33 ½ years at White Castle until she retired. Her passion in life was truly being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved every aspect of it from making holidays magical and fun, celebrating their birthdays in VIP-style, attending every activity her children and grandchildren were involved in, volunteering at their schools, taking pictures of every memorable event, and so much more. Gerry was also a romantic, who loved musicals, love stories, and red roses. She enjoyed passing her time baking, gardening, bike riding, reading, doing puzzles, and listening to Bobby Vinton. Gerry was predeceased by her parents, John and Genevieve, and her husband, John Czaplicki. She’ll be remembered by her brother, James (Sonja), and her sister, Jeannie; her children, John, Jim (Lori), Karen (Bryce), and Matthew (Nicole); as well as her grandchildren, Jenny (Adam), Erica (Kevin), Johnny (Brittany), Ashley, Brittany (Ray), Alesha, Tanner (Jane), Zack, Austin, Alexander, Aaron, Axel, Lyla, Grayson, Connor, and Caden, and great-grandchildren Russell, Graham, Holden, and Joe.
