Was so sorry to hear of Mr Raz's passing. He was a folk hero to me. As Mike's east coast friend/roommate, I had a different kind of appreciation for the midwestern dad who drove his family to St Louis most fall weekends to watch us play football. He was generous (always invited me to dinner when they stayed), and he was charming (always asked how I was doing and laughed at my stories). Will never forget the graduation dinner at Dierdorf & Hart's that our families shared in the Spring of '91. That's when Mr. Raz seemed his happiest/proudest--to have just watched his firstborn graduate from Wash U. There was plenty of love and smiles at the table that day. Thoughts and prayers are with the Radziendas, friends, and family. So sorry for your loss.

I went to undergrad with Mike and I was fortunate to meet Mr. Raz on several occasions through the years. I slept through graduation, and Mr. Raz thought that was hysterical. Every time I'd see him after graduation, he'd alway bring up my sleeping habits. He was a wonderful man, and he always had kind words to say to me. My deepest condolences to the Raz family. RIP Mr. Raz.

Raz, Mrs. Raz and Marybeth,
Every time I saw Mr. Raz, I got a hardy handshake, a pat on the back, and a grin...
The grin was because he knew we were up to something - but I think he actually liked it about us and it was his way of letting us know, that he knew. And, he was right.

Some of my best memories of Mr. Raz, was that he was always proud of his kids.
Not only with academics and athletics, but in life. He was known as the Local 17 guy, whose kid was a "helper", and is now a Doctor. We all know how proud he was of both Mike and Marybeth.

Still remember golfing with him and seeing that he was an almost scratch golfer and only golfed a couple times a year. Angie's Pizza lover, Old Style, and playing against us in 6th grade basketball at St. Denis - Dad's vs Kids.

Thank you Mr. Raz, for not telling my Dad when I raided your liquor cabinet and took the rest of your Old Style - (6th grade, I know...). I owe you Mr. Raz - your were tough on me, but you still had that grin on your face when you reprimanded me.

Mr Raz was a generous man. He gave us his season tickets to the Bears so the roommates in our house in Brookfield during medical school could go to Soldier Field for home games. I remember him coming over on Saturday mornings to help Mike with a project and he'd sit in the kitchen and drink coffee with me. We only had skim and 2% milk for the coffee but he never complained. He took us on a golf outing with the union pipe fitters. Bob always drove a Buick. He and Donna had me and my wife and son over for Easter dinner with their family and we ate roasted duck. He always treated me with such hospitality and kindness and a smile to top it off. It's hard to write about this now. In fond memory, Dan and Alys.

Raz, although I only had the pleasure of spending time with your dad on a few occasions, I felt like I knew him all of my life. You spoke of him often, and what stood out to me most, was the immense amount of pride you showed, each and every time. I know how proud he was of you, and I know he is resting easy knowing the impact he had on you, your family and your friends. Celebrate him every day. Our deepest sympathies to all of you.

There are no words to express my feelings and the heaviness in my heart. I have known Bob since he was a baby, my Mom and his were friends we lived in the same building. I never knew that we would one day be family! Stan and I could not have asked for a better friend, buddy and brother. We had so many fun times. Bob, you are always in our hearts. Until we meet again. Love Di

Mike and family,
It was truly saddening news about your father. Your dad was one of the most supportive, welcoming, and generous persons I ever met. His love of his family was evident. He was always ready to offer a cold Old Style, a smile, and a great story. I feel lucky and honored to have known him. He his someone all of us, whether we were just boys at Marist or men with families of our own, were able to look up to and try to be like. God Bless Mr. Raz and his family.
